On March 12, we will be honoring some very special people and raising sponsorships and support for three extraordinary middle schools – Nativity Mission Center on the Lower East Side, Saint Ignatius School in the South Bronx, and Brooklyn Jesuit Prep in Crown Heights.

Each year, New York Nativity schools provide a life-changing experience for over 200 children who live in New York’s most impoverished communities.  Our schools have proven that the cycle of poverty can be broken.  Our students – hard-working kids with real, achievable dreams – move on to quality high schools and enter and graduate college at rates far exceeding those of their demographic peers.

One awards ceremony for all three schools will honor not only our collective achievements in educating inner-city children, but also the consolidation earlier this year of the governance and administrative functions of the New York schools.  Friends and supporters can make donations to a specific school or to New York Nativity for the support of all three schools.

We will also be celebrating this year’s honorees, whose generous leadership demonstrates the power of collaborative philanthropy:

Student Sponsorships are the focus of this year’s fundraising effort, and we hope you can help us achieve our goal of a sponsorship for every one of our students.  Though the investment is considerable, you will see that the return is extraordinary.  Your support can give a promising but disadvantaged child a rare opportunity – the opportunity to thrive in an individualized, high-quality middle-school program, graduate from a competitive high school and college, support a family, give back to a community, and escape poverty for good.
